The Sipp family began cultivating wine in Ribeauville, Alsace, at the end of the First World War. The first vineyards were bought by the feisty grandmother Louise Sipp, whilst her husband was fighting at the Russian front. It was also at this point that the first ageing barrels were purchased, some of which are still in the wine cellars and in use today.
